FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Little River ShrimpFest 2025 Canceled Due to Weather Conditions
Little River, SC – October 11, 2025 – The Little River Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center has announced that the 20th Annual Little River ShrimpFest has been canceled for both Saturday and Sunday due to ongoing forecasts of high winds and heavy rain.
The rain along with wind gusts of 20 miles per hour continue to pose safety concerns for tents, vendors, and attendees. After close consultation with public safety officials and weather authorities, organizers made the difficult decision to cancel the entire weekend event.
“The safety of our patrons, vendors, and volunteers is always our utmost priority,” said Jennifer Walters, President & CEO of the Little River Chamber of Commerce. “We are deeply disappointed to reach this outcome, especially after so much anticipation and hard work from our community, but we must put safety first.”
All advance ticket holders will be fully reimbursed, and vendors will receive refunds for their booth spaces. The Chamber will be in direct contact with vendors and ticket holders in the coming days with additional details.
The Chamber expressed gratitude to its sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and the community for their understanding and continued support despite the weather challenges.
“ShrimpFest has always been about celebrating our coastal heritage and community spirit,” Walters added. “We look forward to brighter days ahead and can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the waterfront next year.”
