Program and Events Manager
The Program and Events Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all Chamber programs and signature events. This includes monthly business networking functions and annual community events and festivals, with primary responsibility for the comprehensive management of the World-Famous Blue Crab Festival, Little River Shrimp Festival, and Little River Patriots Day Festival.
Chamber Programs and Networking Events
- Plan and execute monthly networking events:
- Wake Up Wednesday (1st Wednesday of the month)
- Chamber Connections (2nd Tuesday of the month)
- Networking at Noon (last Tuesday of the month)
- Organize ribbon cuttings and business celebrations in coordination with members.
- Collaborate with staff to promote events through Chamber communication channels.
- Coordinate logistics, venues, catering, speakers, and materials for Chamber-hosted programs.
- Track attendance and gather post-event feedback to assess success and make improvements.
- Serve as a member of the Chamber’s Special Events Committee.
- Lead the full planning and execution of both festivals with oversight from Chamber leadership.
- Coordinate all festival infrastructure, including:
- Garbage and sanitation services
- Portable restrooms
- Security and emergency services
- Satellite parking and tourist transportation
- Equipment rental (tents, stages, tables, electrical, etc.)
- Ensure all festival contracts are prepared in accordance with the Chamber’s procurement policy and approved by executive leadership.
- Utilize Eventeny software to manage administrative tasks, vendor relations, communications, and data.
- Ensure appropriate training and usage of Eventeny by all involved personnel.
- Manage all festival-related meetings and logistics:
- Vendor application review and space assignments
- Vendor and volunteer check-in and coordination
- Site setup, teardown, and clean-up (including satellite parking lots)
- Festival-owned equipment delivery, storage, and return
- Serve as the on-site event lead throughout festival weekend.
- Prepare post-event SWOT analysis and provide strategic feedback for future improvements.
- Proven experience in event planning, project management, or hospitality.
- Exceptional organizational and logistical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in event software (experience with Eventeny a plus).
