Description
At 7:00 PM on July 9, the Museum of Coastal Carolina’s Sandbar Café welcomes guest speaker Ashley Barnhill. The Sandbar Café is co-sponsored by OIB Surf & Java. Sit back, relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, and listen to Ashley Barnhill talk about the life of one of North Carolina’s more colorful governors, Daniel L. Russell (1845-1908). Russell was elected Governor of North Carolina in 1896. Barnhill will also discuss the events impacting the lower Cape Fear region during the time that Russell was governor.
Ashley Barnhill received a B.A. in political science from NCSU and an M.A. in history from UNCW. He taught history at Brunswick Community College for 14 years.
