Description
In recognition of National Heart Month, McLeod Loris Seacoast is offering heart healthy seminars free to the community. Heart specialists will be conducting classes at McLeod Loris and McLeod Seacoast discussing preventive measures you can take to maintain a healthy heart.
Dr. Nathan Almeida, of Pee Dee Cardiology, will discuss preventive testing which is vital to ensure that a person does not develop heart disease. He provides up to date information on the importance of lifestyle changes in order to maintain a healthy heart and reduce any cardiac complications. If you are facing plaque buildup in your arteries, have suffered a stroke or heart attack, Dr. Almeida will explain the steps to getting back to health and reducing the risk of reoccurrence.
This seminar will be Wednesday, February 13, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at McLeod Seacoast.
Dr. Gavin Leask, of Pee Dee Cardiology, will discuss heart disease in both men and women, contributing risk factors and what measures to take for prevention. Studies have shown that women today account for more than half of the population living with heart disease. If you have suffered from a heart attack, stroke, or even a blockage, it is very important to make lifestyle changes. Dr. Leask will explain follow-up tests and procedures to ensure heart recovery. This seminar will be on Wednesday, February 20, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Center for Health & Fitness in Loris.
