Description
On February 9 at 11:00 AM, come to the Museum of Coastal Carolina for a program called Get Ready for the Great Backyard Bird Count. The 16th annual Great Backyard Bird Count takes place February 15 through 18. This event engages bird watchers of all ages and all levels of expertise, from beginners to experts. It’s a great family activity. The results create a real-time snapshot of how our feathered friends are doing. Come to the Museum workshop and learn how identify backyard birds, how to register for the event, and how to complete and submit the forms.
On February 16 at 11:00, the Museum presents a Valentine’s Day-inspired program called Coastal Connections: Which Animals Mate for Life?
On February 23 at 11:00, a program called What Kind of Fish is That? takes you on a guided tour of the Museum’s Ocean Reef Gallery, the area’s largest dry aquarium.
Have you ever held a sea urchin in your hand or fed a sea star? Every Friday at 11:00, come help Museum docents feed the live animals in the Touch Tank.
The Museum of Coastal is located at 21 east Second Street in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Through May 23 the museum is open on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00. Admission is free for museum members. Non-member all-day admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students, $4 for ages 3-4, and free for ages 2 and under. For more information, call 910-579-1016 or visit www.MuseumPlanetarium.org.
