Special Notice Regarding COVID-19 (SCRLA)
The South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association, along with a coalition of more than 150 other hospitality and travel-related organizations, is committed to the safety and health of our member’s guests and employees. The SCRLA is in daily contact with governmental and public health officials and is acting on the most up-to-date information on the evolving coronavirus situation.
We concur with public health officials’ advice to remain calm and fully informed in order to make rational decisions. With reasonable protocols that we normally take to stay healthy and by communicating best practices and solutions, we can continue to respond appropriately.
Health and government officials have continually assured the public that healthy Americans can ‘confidently travel in the United States.’ Though the headlines may be worrisome, experts continue to say the overall coronavirus risk in the U.S. remains low. The most accurate information on coronavirus can be found on SCDHEC.gov.
In terms of the travel industry, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control offers these tips.
The South Carolina tourism industry is very much holding its own. Our priority will remain to restore business as quickly as possible. Working together and with our state being an 81% drive market, we believe the virus’ impact will be minimized.
In the meantime, please remain informed and follow best practices to keep you, your workplace and your families safe.
