Join Ingram Planetarium educator Edward Ovsenik at 7:00 PM on April 5, 2013 when he discusses the new physics and the laws of planetary motion developed by Galileo, Newton, and Kepler. These revolutionary ideas helped explain the complex motion of the planets and their satellite bodies. The helio-centric model of the Solar System and the movement of the Solar System within the galaxy and the universe were challenging concepts for the mechanically inclined 18^th century to understand and accept. Ovsenik’s program will explore these topics and more in enlightening the audience about our Solar System and beyond.

Mr. Ovsenik received a B.A. in biology, worked towards an MS in Marine Botany, and has a Juris Doctorate in Law. His career centered on environmental, health, and safety compliance in government and industry, including technology-driven companies in the chemical and computer software sectors. He brings his educational and corporate background to Ingram Planetarium, interacting with visitors and conducting programs and lectures.

Ingram Planetarium is located at 7625 High Market Street in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Admission to Ovsenik’s program is free for Ingram Planetarium members. Non-member admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students, $4 for children ages 3-4, and free for ages 2 and under.
