DESCRIPTION:The 9th Annual MARATHON FOR MEALS food drive\, beginning at noon on Saturday\, Nov. 12\, 2011 and running until the trailer is full of food\, for the Myrtle Beach based Community Kitchen and Helping Hand Organizations.\n\n\n\nScott Mann\, Wave 104.1's Assistant Program Director and Afternoon Personality is packing his bags for the 9th year in a row to collect food for those in need. Scott will live in an RV provided by Carolina RV for a minimum of 8 days or until the double sided trailer is completely full. His location will be in front of the Broadway At The Beach Visitors Center. He will be collecting non perishable food items for the Myrtle Beach based Community Kitchen and Helpng Hand Organizations.\n\n\n\nPiggly Wiggly will also help the food drive efforts by placing large donation boxes in their 5 Grand Strand locations\, where people will be able to drop off their non perishable food items November 11\, 2011 through November 19\, 2011.\n\n\n\nScott said of this year's event:  "All you need to do is watch the news once to know that these are tough times everywhere in America. The Marathon For Meals exists to help the Community Kitchen and Helping Hand feed people and children who would go without whether they live in a home or on the street. I'm glad to do it\, and sincerely hope a day will come when we can say it's no longer needed."
