DESCRIPTION:The Long Bay Symphony presents Romantic Blockbusters featuring Sebastian B verstam\, cello on Sunday\, March 10\, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Myrtle Beach High School Music & Arts Center. A program of some of the best-loved masterworks from the Romantic period:\n\nRossini William Tell Overture\, Saint-Sa ns Cello Concerto No. 1\, and Brahms Symphony No. 1.  In addition\, the concert will feature the world premiere of a commission from local composer and Coastal Carolina University faculty member\, Donald Sloan\, in celebration of the symphonies 25th Anniversary season. The composition takes its title from a Longfellow poem " ...the waves that break upon the idle seashore of the mind".\n\n \n\nA Symphony Soiree featuring the guest artist will be held at the Franklin G. Burroughs - Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum on Saturday\, March 9\, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.  Sebastian B verstam will present a short concert followed by a wine and cheese reception. Tickets are $35 and seating is limited.
