DESCRIPTION:To celebrate Earth Day\, Dr. Richard Hilderman will present a program called Climate Reality\, a topic that concerns us all. Dr. Hilderman will present Climate Reality at the Museum of Coastal Carolina in Ocean Isle Beach\, NC on April 20 at 11:00 AM. He will present Climate Reality at Ingram Planetarium in Sunset Beach\, NC on April 20 at 5:00 PM.\n\n\n\nDr. Hilderman writes: "After retirement\, I got involved in the global warming/climate change issue. The more I looked into it\, the more concerned I got." Dr. Hilderman's presentation addresses the following questions in non-technical terms that can be easily understood: Is the climate actually changing? If so\, what is causing this shift? Are humans contributing to it? What are the consequences of climate change? Can we slow it down? What can we as individuals do to help?\n\n\n\nDr. Hilderman taught biochemistry and biological sciences at Clemson University. He was Chair of the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry and Director of the Clemson University Genomic Institute. In addition\, he has authored numerous scientific articles. Now retired\, he has a home in Sunset Beach.
