SUMMARY:6th Annual Taste of the Coast at Barefoot Landing
DESCRIPTION:Barefoot Landing is again partnering with our neighbors at Risen Christ Lutheran School to host the Sixth Annual "Taste of the Coast at Barefoot Landing." The event will be held on Saturday\, March 23\, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.\n\nLocal restaurants will set up booths and offer samples of their specialties. This event promises to be "The Family Fun Event of the Year" offering a family-friendly atmosphere with something for everyone. The event will feature a huge "Kid Zone" with exciting games and activities including blow up rides\, rock wall\, bungee jumping\, balloon artist\, face painters\, hair braiding and much\, much more! Live entertainment will be provided throughout the day featuring local talent. Admission for adults $1.00 and children 12 and under are kids free. Food and ride tickets are $1.00 each.\n\n\n\nThe Taste of the Coast event will raise scholarship funds to benefit the students of Risen Christ Lutheran School through the support and efforts of the Grand Strand's culinary community and Barefoot Landing. Risen Christ Lutheran Church and School was established in 1976 and is currently celebrating 36 years of service to the Grand Strand. As a result of the Eagle Fund's existence\, Risen Christ can provide a scholarship avenue which insures a quality education for every child\, regardless of financial position. The event will bring community awareness and recognition to all participants.\n\n\n\nWe would like to offer a special thanks to our Platinum vendors who donated all of their proceeds last year: Biminis\, Wild Wing\, Fire Island Grill\, Dick's Last Resort\, Olive Garden\, Johnny Rockets\, Joe's Crab Shack\, and Captain Poo's\, and 21 Main. Welcome to new vendors this year including Southern Cupcake Company\, Bonefish\, BBQ Shack\, and Castano's Italian Steakhouse\, and the Smoking Hot Southwest Grill and BBQ.\n\n\n\nIn conjunction with the festival\, Risen Christ Lutheran School\, Risen Christ Lutheran Church\, Barefoot Landing\, and its merchants will again be hosting a food drive to benefit the North Strand Helping Hand. This year's goal is 10\,000 pounds of food!! Anyone interested in donating can drop off at any of these locations beginning March 8\, 2013.
