Hubert Bullard Receives 2016 SCFEA Director of the Year Award

Little River, SC  - The South Carolina Festival and Events Association (SCFEA) announced Hubert Bullard, Festival Director of the World Famous Blue Crab Festival, as the 2016 SCFEA Director of the Year award winner at the 2017 Festival & Event Planner's Conference. The SCFEA Excellence Awards program provides an opportunity for industry recognition for event professionals throughout the state, and the Director of the Year award specifically recognizes excellence in event management.
 
Mr. Bullard has served the World Famous Blue Crab Festival in a variety of roles for the past fifteen years. Under his tenure, the festival has grown from less than 150 to more than 300 vendors representing over fifteen states along the East Coast. Attendance has increased a exceptional 300%, which is now expects 40,000 patrons yearly. He has also been a supporter of the SCFEA for many years and is currently serving his third 3-year term on its Board of Directors.

"As our second consecutive SCFEA award, we are quite proud to be regarded so highly, especially while in competition with the quality events found in our state."
 
The World Famous Blue Crab Festival is currently under the leadership of the Little River Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center, and has been recognized as the Event/Festival of the Year for the past eight consecutive years by The Sun News. Now in its 36th year, this event is the longest running street festival on the Grand Strand and attendees kick-off the summer season with an estimated $3 million boost to the local economy.
